【理化性质】：硫酸钠，无色透明，有时带浅黄或绿色，易溶于水。白色、无臭、有苦味的结晶或粉末，有吸湿性。外形为无色、透明、大的结晶或颗粒性小结晶。不溶于强酸、铝、镁吸湿。暴露于空气中易吸湿成为含水硫酸钠。241℃时转变成六方型结晶。在潮湿空气中易水化，转变成粉末状含水硫酸钠覆盖于表面。

【主要用途】：化学工业用作制造硫化钠硅酸钠水玻璃及其它化工产品。造纸工业用于制造硫酸盐纸浆时的蒸煮剂。玻璃工业用以代替纯碱做助溶剂。纺织工业用于调配维尼纶纺丝凝固剂。用于有色金属冶金、皮革等方面。用来制硫化钠、纸浆、玻璃、水玻璃、瓷釉，也用作缓泻剂和钡盐中毒的解毒剂等。
